Located in Ventura, California, this sixteen-foot tiny house on wheels was lovingly built according to a Michael Janzen Cleone plan with bay windows, French doors, and customized features. It was built from the trailer up (on an Iron Eagle, tiny-house-specific trailer) with treated wood and pine-and-groove pitched ceilings inside. This home has been certified as a recreational trailer by Pacific West Tiny Homes, and the square footage, including a sleeping loft with an egress, skylight window, comes to a total of 175 square feet. The shell was solidly built by a local contractor who abandoned the finish work when the Thomas Fires hit the Ventura area in December 2017. Many hands completed the project, including mine, to make it a unique little gem: there is even a Beatles stained glass window in the sleeping loft! All electric, no propane. Included in the sale are a small fire extinguisher, smoke alarms (regular and propane), a 19-gallon electric water heater, RV electrical whip, food-grade hose for water source, two stabilizer jacks, small refrigerator, and an Ikea Bjursta, space-saving, wall-mounted, drop-leaf table in the kitchen.
This tiny house was originally completed with a composting toilet and small tanks for gray and black water. Short of upgrading all plumbing, however, I aborted the project due to health issues. If you are handy and looking for the perfect trailer for camping, a “she shed” for your back yard, or even full-time living with your own preferred upgrades, this is a structurally sound tiny house that is a “must see” and will be sold “as-is” (see above for inclusions).
The penny tour is available by appointment only, preferably on Sundays. The tiny is in a nice park close to downtown Ventura. Should you decide to keep the tiny in the park, this is a pleasant community to live in; or, you may want to take it home or move it to a location that is more convenient for you.
