Falling Leaves, an approximately 250 square foot tiny house on wheels, is built on a 24’ trailer, and features a living area, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping loft. It can be described with three concepts: beautiful, efficient, thoughtfully designed.
On the outside, the tone is set for the industrial modern style. It features two-tone shiplap siding, with corrugated metal accents, and a standing seam galvanized metal roof. On one end of the house, the utilities shed houses the electrical panel, water inlet, drainage hose connection, and exterior unit for the ductless mini-split AC/heat pump. On the other end of the house are the front door and front steps, which can be oriented in any of 3 directions.
Enter into the living area, complete with custom built-in seating, a media console, and oodles of storage space. Custom-stained hardwood floors run throughout the house. A built-in table with chairs offers eating and working space. The stairs likewise do double duty, housing 2 closets with hanging bars, and cubbies. Up the stairs, a sleeping loft has enough space for a queen size mattress.
In the kitchen, butcherblock countertops sit atop standard cabinets, with extra storage tucked into every available corner. A compact refrigerator and two-burner cooktop are included. Locations for a microwave and a toaster oven complete the customizable cooking set-up, and a space for either a dishwasher or a washer/dryer combination unit provides another option for customization.
The chalkboard pocket door leads to the bathroom, with a composting toilet, shower, sink, and bathroom storage. The tankless electric water heater and access to plumbing shut-offs are also in the bathroom.
Falling Leaves also includes a thorough owner’s manual with all the pertinent details.
