The mission of the NHHHBA Tiny House initiative is to help students follow a career path into the residential construction industry by a small scale home and utilize the skills they learn in the classroom to the real world.
The MWV Career and Technical Center at Kennett High School in North Conway, NH proudly built this Tiny House on an 8’ x 24’ trailer. The main level has approximately 190 sq ft of living space with an additional 120 sq ft in two loft areas. There is a sleeping loft that measures approximately 8’ x 10’ and a second storage loft that is approximately 4’ x 10’. The interior is finished with 1x5 tongue and groove pine, hickory and cherry cabinets and easy-to-clean vinyl plank flooring throughout. The exterior is sided with red cedar shakes and the roofing is black architectural shingles.
The 3’ x 8’ bathroom has a full size (36”x72”) shower, a standard toilet and houses the Rinnai tankless propane water heater. The kitchen boasts plenty of storage with a 36” sink base, a 24” range base, a 30” wall cabinet and an 18”x 84” utility cabinet with moveable shelving. The stainless steel sink and faucet and propane 2-burner Suburban cooktop provide the essentials. The pine countertop was custom built and finished in our building trades shop. The HiSense refrigerator/freezer and the microwave are secured with open storage above and below as well. There are two storage benches to the left and the right of the Great Room and you will also find two storage areas with room to hang clothes on either side of the entry.
